Stress is NOT the boss!

Did you think you’d be around when ‘food in a box’ is considered more valuable than ‘food from a tree’? when being ‘pleasantly plump’ is some sort of distorted view of the new normal, and when being ‘stressed out’ is considered the norm?

Well guess what? Don’t let it be. Just ‘let go’ of all that. Take a deep breath, stop and smell the Eucalyptus, and no, it’s all NOT THAT important. Stress doubles any health problems you may have, according to health professionals around the world.

There are many natural ways to deal with stress. Here are some:

1) Meditation can take you to a whole new dimension. It calms the mind, calms the soul and relaxes you. If you are ever interested in meditation, you can take yoga classes or you can request lessons from the Self-Realization Fellowship, founded by Paramahansa Yogananda of India. They have in-home lessons that don’t cost much, and if you run into a problem, you can ‘Google’ self-actualization scholarships and get their contact information to ask questions.

2) Massage is one of the greatest stress relievers of all time. Basic massage helps relieve tension and puts you in a state of pure bliss. Deep tissue massage therapists also help with many health problems. If you come across a bad professional masseuse, find another one.

3) Tai Chi and Chi-Gong are ancient Asian “meditation in motion” exercises that keep joints and bones flexible. They improve blood circulation and calm the mind and body.

4) Vitamin B Complex – If you have depleted your B vitamins from drinking alcohol or a stressful lifestyle, you will be more moody, nervous, and irritable as the loss of these vitamins progresses. A full scale of B vitamins is paramount for an overall healthy nervous system.

5) Calcium-Magnesium – Very important to be calm, fresh and serene, as they say.

6) Valerian, skullcap, and chamomile: These are some of the best calming herbs. You can buy most of these at a health food store. Some of them can even be bought in the usual store. Great for better sleep, too.

7) Sleep: Stressful people need long, quality sleep. Sleep is your healing agent for stress. Not getting enough sleep definitely makes stress worse.

8) If you don’t know about reflexology, this is a great stimulating way to help you calm down and relax. Reflexology is an ancient art that uses acupressure points on the feet, sometimes the hands, and the ears to send calming energy to tired and diseased areas of the body.

Do you need prescription or over-the-counter medications for stress? Of course not! There are SO MANY natural products and techniques that can take care of that. Look and you will find the soft natural ones.

Today, many companies that promote natural products make incredible formulas for stress. Many health food distributors and facilities have great stress formulas these days. And don’t forget good old fashioned TLC… tenderness, love and care for YOU. After all, if you don’t take care of yourself, who will?
