What’s for dinner? 30 minute menus for 2009 – 21st edition

wow! This is Memorial Day weekend. Can you believe it? I hope you have a great weekend planned.

I’ll be hosting a Memorial Day BBQ at our local park. The Mixed Grill BBQ will be perfect because I can whip it up and take it to the park in (you guessed it) 30 minutes, totally! The food is very portable, so you can also take it with you wherever you go.

For our appetizer course while people gather, we will have an At-The-Cheese-Ball appetizer course. This will be the perfect accompaniment for our informal barbecue. The course includes cheddar cheese balls; summer sausage with roasted garlic mustard; vegetable platter with pear slices and spicy tomato sauce; tortilla chips, herb crackers, and honey-roasted almonds.

You will find that I use various cooking methods, mix and match, to get dinner on the table fast! (Ingredients in parentheses show some of my quick prep steps.) You can always substitute your favorite made-from-scratch recipes when you have more time.

Hope you have a great week!
