Obey Clarion’s call

Do the poor really get poorer? Rhetorical question I must say, because it seems to me the slogan “The rich get richer and the poor get poorer.“, which is frequently used in the discussion of economic inequality, is said simply to satisfy the laws of rhyme writing. A poor man is poor. If anything else is taken from him, then he is dead. So what state it would probably be worse to receive the comparative suffix ?”eh”?

Just as the north and south poles never meet, the slogan emphasizes the divergent relationship between rich and poor. But there is ONLY one thing in common; “God makes them all.” He makes the rich to LOVE and GIVE to the poor and he makes the poor to HUMBLY RECEIVE from the rich. Thus fostering a relationship between them that can only converge, survive and flourish in an atmosphere of LOVE and HUMILITY.

During a debate on ‘poverty and the poor’, Confucian saying: “In a well governed country, poverty is something to be ashamed of and in a badly governed country; wealth is something to be ashamed of“. Since a country is made up of a large group of people, we can say: “For a well-informed person, poverty is something to be ashamed of, and for a poorly informed person; wealth is something to be ashamed of.” Information empowers and that power is all it takes to create wealth. Give all the wealth in the world to a man who lacks information (knowledge), you are just wasting precious time and resources feeding their poverty. Poverty is a mentality, not a “pocket set“and we must graduate from the low level of thinking that has led us to believe that poverty is a state of not having money to spend; not being able to afford or get what you want. Delineating poverty in that way is like defining a noun as a noun.” of any person, animal, place, or thing. This was true to a point, but we grew up and more was expected of us. I remember being asked by a teacher in high school to define a noun and when I gallantly handed over the above definition thinking that had done justice to the question, he replied “that was great for elementary school now give us a definition that shows you are now in a high school qualifier. I looked around to see if any other hands went up to answer the question but there was NONE.Then it occurred to me that life is in stages and everything progresses as we grow up including definitions.it replaces 6 because definitions have been improved and new words have been added. Now, poverty is a state of lack not only of money, but also of the mental power to process and make effective use of the available information. And a noun is not only the name of a person, or of an animal, place, or thing, but also a word or group of words that represents an activity, a quality, or an idea, which can also be used as a subject or object. of a verb. Following the previous definition, then a country is a noun that represents the activities of the rulers, perhaps “leaders” (as the case may be), and that of the people, as well as their qualities and ideas, which help us decide who is the subject and/or object of those activities.

Now let us analyze the above definition using Nigeria as an example. We are all, through the media, familiar with the activities of the Nigerian leaders and people, so I will not bore you with them again. I just want us to establish a relationship (if any) between these activities and its proportion to the qualities and ideas of the parties involved.

Ideas They start out as “thoughts”. Write the vision (in words); make it clear on the boards, so whoever sees it can “RUN” with it. Running with your ideas is acting on them (action). And a compilation of a group of the same or sometimes different actions describes your Activities. When we critically study the trend of a man’s regular activities, both visible and hidden, we can tell what stuff he is made of, that is, his Ratings. Simply put, in the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson: “Watch your thoughts, they become words. Choose your words, they become actions. Understand your actions, they become habits. Study your clothes, it becomes character. Develop your character, it becomes your destiny.“that is, thoughts (ideas) = words = actions = clothes (activities) = character (qualities) = destination. If we choose a current Nigerian leader, for example, and invert the above equation, starting with character, taking into consideration that any given process involves “TIME” and add a time frame of say 10 years to each of these milestones, then your character (qualities) at the age of 65 depends on your habits (regular activities) at age 55, and those habits depend on your actions at age 45, and those actions depend on your words at age 35, and those words are the direct result of your thoughts (ideas) at the age of 25. Unequivocally proven, this is an indication that the qualities of our leaders today (who are mostly between the ages of 55 and 65) are the result of their ideas when they were still young (an average young man between 20 and 30 years old). Therefore, the answers to the question “which are the qualities of an average Nigerian leader?“are latent in the answers to the fundamental question”which are the ideas of an average Nigerian youth?“and the answers to the last question determine the activities which lead to the first.

The Children of Yesterday are the Youth of Today; The youth of today are the leaders of tomorrow. The youth of yesterday are the leaders of today; Today’s leaders are tomorrow’s sponsors. NIGERIAN YOUTH!!! What are your thoughts? What ideas do you have for yourself, your immediate environment and, in turn, the entire Nation? King David was never clueless. Even as a child, he had a solid character and saved the town from him. David Adegboyega, in his book ‘Sound Character: A Maxim for a Successful Future’, said: “building your character traits is not an overnight business“. A God-fearing, responsible and people-oriented leader is not made overnight, his formation begins from his vision when he was young. A young man who bribed his teachers in school to graduate automatically will manage bad funds the Nation if he becomes the leader.A young man who cannot keep his word today cannot build a nation tomorrow.Bad character traits can be as simple as throwing dirt out of his car on the highway, disobeying traffic rules and queuing. You want 5 million Naira, but how has your immediate environment benefited from the Little 500 Naira in your hand? You want to be the Governor of your State, so that every indigenous person can live in a skyscraper. But tell me, what sacrifices did you make as class governor in your department? He who is not faithful in a little cannot be faithful in a lot. These things are seeds. Sow discontent and greed like today’s youth and reap the corruption and shame as the leader of tomorrow. Today’s leaders may be indifferent to a paradigm shift, but I believe there is a shred of hope in the Nigerian youth. who decide to listen and obey the Clarion. I was so moved the first time I heard over 2,600 Nigerian youth sing the national anthem at the NYSC orientation camp during my year of service. I was very moved by the harmony of the voices, masculine and feminine intertwined. I said in my heart, if every single person on this ground would take their rightful place as a Nation Builder, history would probably have changed. We may complain that those who call us the leaders of tomorrow deny us the opportunity to fill the “seats”, but that is not an excuse but rather a challenge to become more equipped and prepared for the enormous tasks that lie ahead. Whether anyone likes it or not, some of us will soon find opportunities knocking on our doors. And the opportunity for which you have not prepared will be misused. But then I charge you, don’t wait for “opportunities” to come knocking, go break the rock and create the one you want to take.

This nation has suffered so much for far too long at the hands of “accidental heroes.” O God of creation, direct our course (wondering if it is still noble), guide our leaders aright and in case it is too late, then please help our youth to the truth to know that the poor do not have to become poorer even when the rich get richer, that the smart don’t have to think too much until they lose their minds, and the fools don’t have to pay for not thinking at all. Some have more food than appetite while others have more appetite than food. Artists use lies to paint the truth with a brush, and our “rulers” use the truth to paint lies, which they are in love with. Parents watch as discontent sits with their child and from his youth, greed rocks him into manhood. A bad father begets a bad son, a bad son becomes a bad young man, and a terrible young man turns out to be a lousy leader. One sound character is all it takes. You already have it, you have EVERYTHING. According to a Chinese proverb “Distance tests a horse’s strength. Time reveals the character of a person.“. THE LEADER YOU WANT TO SEE IS THE YOUNG MAN YOU HAVE TO BE.
