My review of American Adventures and the Foam Factory in Atlanta

Last week my family and I went to American Adventures Family Fun Park. The weather was really HOT. The parking lot was extremely full. Lots of people were taking advantage of the hot day to get wet at the water park next door. Six Flags White Water also seems to be a lot of fun, but it was a lot more expensive.

American Adventures is like a little carnival with slightly better rides. Its main idea is to attract younger children who would not normally be able to ride the rides at its largest park, Six Flags.

FREE PARKING AND FREE ADMISSION American Adventures no longer charges admission. You simply pay for the attractions you want.

Some of the rides were closed, which was unfortunate, but this was probably due to a lack of employees working. I would notice that they would close a trip and then reopen it. What I love is that Lines was REALLY short. Most of the time we would get on right after the ride ended. These games are perfect for children from 2 to 9 years old.

FOAM FACTORY

It’s basically a big indoor playground that you’d see at ChuckECheese or McDonalds. Children climb ropes, nets, ladders and throw small foam balls at people. It was ok but looks like it could use a bit of sprucing up. Some parts were broken or just old.

How to plan and some TIPS

It was my wife, myself and our two and a half year old son, we were going to the park. I spent roughly around $20 total for about 3 hours of entertainment. This is how I did it:

* Sign up for the coupon on their website to get $3 off and print it
* You can take water and snacks with you. Of course, it is much more expensive
* Parking is $10 but keep your receipt
* At the ticket sale Buy Unlimited for a Child and give the receipt and the parking coupon
*No purchase necessary for adults with a paying child
* All this for less than $20. It’s a cheap outing for the family.

Overall, I give this place a B. I had to travel about 30 miles to get there, so it’s not like I’m ready to head back anytime soon. Check it out if you find yourself in the area and need something to do.
