Gold is not on the stack in World of Warcraft

What a lot of people do when they go to sell things on the auction house is take out whole stacks of stuff. This is fine in certain cases and doesn’t really hurt, but there are situations where a lot more gold can be made by selling things in smaller stacks, or even item by item.

In previous articles, I’ve covered this topic around enchanting materials, for example, and I’ll elaborate on that and more in this post.

As mentioned, enchanting materials are always useful for selling item by item, as people who only buy materials to enchant one item will be more inclined to buy small stacks or individual items rather than full stacks. The benefit of putting individual items on the auction house is that you can ask for a higher price per item most of the time, since people will see that you don’t use as much gold as the full stack. This is again due to the fact that we World of Warcraft players have a tendency to be very lazy.

People looking for the few dusts or essences to get an enchanted item could also buy the full stack where they pay much less per item, and then they could sell the remaining materials on the auction house again. But did I mention that we tend to be lazy, right? 🙂

When it comes to enchanting materials, this tip will work on everything from the lowest version of enchanting materials to the highest. I’ve often had more success selling mid-tier enchanting materials, like Greater Eternal Essence and Illusion Dust, than selling Infinite Dust, for example. This is due to the fact that infinite dust, which is “current dust”, exists in a much larger quantity than, for example, illusion dust, and due to this, the market is more competitive, which in itself It makes prices go down. And the prices can drop A LOT at times.

However, you can make a lot of gold by buying and selling the current materials on the AH, but you have to be careful not to buy too big a stock and then lose gold when prices drop the next day. If you buy things to resell, make sure you can get them all out within minutes of buying them. However, this is only true for certain items in very high demand.

When talking about enchanting materials it’s impossible not to delve into scrolls and “whatever” scrolls. If you’re on a server where the prices for powders and such have dropped a lot and you’re a charmer, it might be profitable to make scrolls of this and that to sell on the auction house, rather than trying to sell the materials. themselves.

The next thing to think about is blacksmithing materials. This is something that is often forgotten or overlooked and shouldn’t be, especially now with Eternal Belt Buckles. These things require 4 bars of saronite each and are often crafted for free by blacksmiths (or pay a small fee if you bring the materials), leading to small stacks or individual bars of saronite that sell like water in the desert. Not so well, but it sells very well and the funny thing is that not many miners think of this and just sell their entire stacks of 20 saronite bars at once.

I have been able to buy saronite bars in full stacks and then resell them one by one for twice the price I paid for the bars in the stacks. However, the profit is not double, since you will have to pay the AH commission, but you will still make a pretty good profit on this. Of course, the blacksmiths could make a better profit by selling the belt buckles right away, but I haven’t tried that yet.

Another item you might want to consider reselling is Frozen Orbs. However, just like with infinite dust, the price of frozen orbs can fluctuate wildly and quickly. This allows you to make a nice profit if you are fast and can buy some frozen orbs to dominate the market.

I’ve noticed a trend on my server where there are tons of cheap frozen orbs in AH after weekends, probably because more people have time to play heroics. And towards the end of the week, the amount of frozen orbs is quite less. Which means you can buy cheap orbs at the start of the week and resell them for a profit at the end of the week, but this is a risky business and you may end up with frozen orbs that you can’t sell.

Just to point this out again, these strategies work on other materials as well, and not just the ones mentioned here. Of course, the saronite idea is hard to do with other mats. But remember that people who are leveling up their professions may not want to have to buy whole stacks of stuff if they just need a few items for that last point before the next orange recipe.
