Final Fantasy 7 Remake for PS4?

According to a report by Andriasang, Yoichi Wada was quoted as saying “we will make a Final Fantasy VII remake once we have made a Final Fantasy game that exceeds the quality of FFVII” during a shareholders meeting. While that doesn’t sound daunting, he added, “If we were to release a new version of 7 right now, the FF franchise would be over.” I couldn’t disagree more with this statement, but the biggest concern in my opinion is the budget that would have to be added for a game as big as Final Fantasy 7, he went on to say, “While the staff would happily do a remake of FFVII, this is something that if they decided to do, they would have to try their best.”. By total effort they obviously mean a great team that would take their time and dedication to perfect the new version, which again always comes down to money.

In Comes Yasuke Matsuda, the new president of Square Enix, has made many promises. Could he be the guy to give the fans what they want? Yoichi Wada certainly didn’t.

After Yoichi Wada stepped down, fans once again jumped into the prospect of a remake to help Square Enix regain profits after once again losing out on profit for the quarter. Mr. Yosuke Matsuda served as a corporate director of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd. Mr. Matsuda has been a representative director of Square Enix Holdings since March 18, 2013 and served as its director. Yosuke Matsuda was asked about the possibility of a Final Fantasy 7 remake and he decided not to comment on it, this is neither bad nor good news. However, recently Square Enix announced a “big” Final Fantasy game in the works for PlayStation 4, the word “big” was thrown around for some reason and all we can do now is speculate on what it is. A tweet followed several days later. The tweet can be shown below and the rumor in Japan is that the game is Final Fantasy 7. No official news from Square Enix, but hopefully the new version will appear on the next-gen console anyway. What do you think is the “big” new game in development Final Fantasy 7?
