As we wake up to face the trials and tribulations of each day, we often take for granted the gift that this life is.
No matter how old you are, 5 or 50 even 100, life is full of adventure and surprises around every corner. As a society inundated with all forms of media, it is very easy for humans to fall into the trap of lethargic behavior. We spend our lives sitting at our desk during the day, then when we get home we sit on the couch and watch TV until it’s time to go to bed, then we repeat that day after day! Arrrgh! Don’t let that happen, force yourself to adopt new routines and a new way of thinking!
It’s time to rethink the way you live! Rediscover the childhood wonder that once controlled your life. Explore new areas, go for a walk, ride a bike, anything to activate and engage your mind. There is a saying, “Tomorrow is a mystery, yesterday is history, TODAY IS A GIFTthat’s why it’s called the present!” (Heard this quote while watching Kung-Fu Panda =) Don’t laugh, that movie is amazing, I highly recommend watching it if you haven’t already, but I digress) tomorrow is never promised, there is no guarantee that you will survive another day on this incredible journey. External forces are always at work, and when it’s their time, that’s it, no repetition. We have no control over when that moment will be, and we have no idea when it will happen, what we do have control over is the here and now. You have the power to change your life as you see fit! A new job, a new relationship, a trip, a new business, etc. etc. All you have to do is take the first step, decide what you want and go for it, no one else can do it for you! Opportunities come in strange ways, I believe things happen for a reason, people come into our lives for reasons that may not be immediately obvious. The trick is learning to recognize these moments and do whatever it takes to make the most of them. Most opportunities come once in a lifetime, and there have been many that I look back on as missed opportunities. As I get older, I find it easier to see these opportunities when they appear in my sight. My “gut feeling” tells me this is legit and I should take advantage of it now! Is it scary? Heck yes it is, anything new and unfamiliar is going to come with apprehension and doubt, but if you stand on the sidelines for that, you’ve almost given up.
YOU are too important to give up! YOU have been given this incredible gift of life on this planet, and now it is time for sixteen of these moments! Expand your mind, expand your vision, discover what it’s like to enjoy each day and let go of all the negative energy around you! Every morning, look in the mirror and tell yourself that YOU are worth it, YOU are unique, there is no one else exactly like you.
